Apparently if John Kerry were to become president it's possible he might try to weaken the DMCA a little bit, or as the author of the article chose to show his flair by saying "defanging" the DMCA. Either way, more consumer control over copyrights would be sweet. Seriously, a stop needs to be put to putting people behind bars for downloading movies and music, I'm sorry, but that won't be the downfall of our society. I'm sure Bush would put some spin on how downloading music/movies funds terrorism and is a threat to our way of life. Lies.
If and when John Kerry wins the election I'd hope this isn't another lost campaign promise.
